Cicheng town ranked 31st nationwide in general strength
Cicheng town in Jingbei district, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province was recently ranked 31st among Chinese towns in comprehensive strength, according to the recent list of top 1,000 Chinese towns.
The town has maintained stable economic and social development this year.
In the first three quarters of this year, the added value of industries above designated size in Cicheng reached 5.9 billion yuan ($919.82 million), a year-on-year increase of 41.1 percent, while its actual utilization of foreign capital amounted to $67 million, completing the annual target.
The rapid development of the high-tech industry has been a highlight of Cicheng's economy, with the town attracting high-tech companies with high added value and high growth potential this year.
The town has also focused on the protection and development of its ancient town area. By the end of this year, the ancient town area is expected to house nearly 30 parking lots with over 3,000 parking spaces, as well as 15 homestays and hotels offering nearly 550 beds.
Cicheng has also integrated its tourism industry with agriculture and launched new tourism routes this year. As of September, the rural areas in Cicheng received more than 610,000 visitors and generated over 42 million yuan ($6.55 million) in tourism revenue.
