Five Zhejiang hospitals listed among nation's top 100
The Hospital Research Institute at Fudan University released its series of annual rankings of Chinese hospitals for 2020 on Nov 20 in Shanghai.
Five Zhejiang-based hospitals were among the top 100 Chinese hospitals in terms of comprehensive strength.
They were First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University (10th), Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University (16th), Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (48th), the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (77th), and Women's Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University (91st).
First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University moved up three spots from its 2019 annual ranking, achieving a record best performance. Its departments of infectious disease, general practice, hematology, and kidney disease were all ranked among the top five nationwide.
Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University's cardiovascular disease, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, intensive care medicine, and health management departments excelled, with all ranking in the top five nationwide.
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine moved up 30 spots from its 2019 annual ranking, the highest increase among all hospitals for the second consecutive year. Its department of general practice was ranked second nationwide.
The Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine climbed four spots from its 2019 annual ranking. Its pediatric medicine and pediatric surgery departments were respectively ranked fourth and sixth nationwide.
Women's Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University was ranked fourth for its gynecology and obstetrics department, which has long maintained a high ranking nationwide.
