Beilun launches cards to provide COVID-19 prevention info
To make it more convenient for residents to learn about COVID-19 epidemic prevention information, paper cards and digital cards were both launched in Beilun district in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 19.
The paper cards were mainly delivered to senior residents who cannot adapt to the use of digital devices. Nucleic acid testing sites, vaccination sites, and contact information of related government workers, policemen, as well as doctors are all printed on the card.
"I want to take the COVID-19 vaccine but I cannot figure out how to use my smartphone to get information about it," said Shi Xingyun, a senior resident in Beilun district. "All the vaccination sites are listed on the card and I will go to the site nearby tomorrow."
Truck drivers, who usually travel between cities and gather together, also received the paper cards.
"We need to follow the latest epidemic prevention and control measures when driving across different cities," said Zhu Meiliang, a truck driver.
Zhu got a digital card by scanning the code on his paper card. "It's so convenient. Detailed information is provided on the card. Now I know clearly what I should do."
Mou Luya, a worker from the Beilun district epidemic prevention and control office, said that more paper cards will be distributed to residents and that digital cards will be updated accordingly in the future.
