The Hurun Research Institute released a report titled "2021 Hurun China Private Companies SDG Readiness 100" on Jan 10.
In the document, the institute lists 100 private Chinese enterprises that best meet the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The goals aim to comprehensively solve development problems in the world across three dimensions – society, economy and environment – before 2030.
Dairy maker Yili topped this year's list, followed by tech company Huawei and real estate developer Country Garden.
Of the 100 listed companies, three of them – Minth Group, Sunny Optical Technology (Group) Co Ltd and Shenzhou International Holdings Ltd - are from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province.
Ningbo ranked sixth nationwide, behind Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Foshan, in terms of the number of companies that made the list.
Shenzhou International, for example, has showed outstanding performance in ecological conservation in recent years by promoting the use of clean energies.
The company's soot emissions dropped by 15.75 percent year-on-year to 53.12 metric tons in 2020.
It has also fitted 32,500 square meters of solar panels with a capacity of 2200 kilowatts on rooftops.
