Products by Ningbo companies used in Shenzhou XIV spacecraft
Several components on China's Shenzhou XIV spacecraft, which was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on June 5, were supplied by enterprises in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported.
For example, the alloy material used in the spaceship's communication system was developed by Ningbo Boway Alloy Material Co Ltd.
Founded in 1993, Boway is a company specializing in new materials, new energy and other industries. The company was listed on the main board of Shanghai Stock Exchange in January 2011.
The company currently has nine manufacturing bases in China, Germany, Canada, and Vietnam.
In addition, ceramic seal rings manufactured by Ningbo FLK Technology Co Ltd are being used in the cooling system of the radar installed on the spaceship.
FLK specializes in the development of special ceramic materials and has participated in the formulation of more than 10 national and industrial standards and obtained 20 invention patents.
Ningbo's aerospace industry has been developing rapidly in recent years.
The Ningbo Aerospace Intelligent Technology City, an aerospace industrial park in the city, has 26 high-end manufacturing projects related to satellite manufacturing, satellite measurement and control and aerospace supporting equipment. In 2021, the combined tax payments of these companies surpassed 1.28 billion yuan ($196.92 million).
