For Justin Berg, the Ningbo Museum is a place no different from home.

In fact, the American has visited the museum 88 times since he moved to Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province in 2008.

Hailing from Michigan, the United States, Berg is presently an English teacher at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He is also currently studying for a PhD in applied linguistics at the school.

According to Berg, he is particularly fascinated by Ningbo Museum's architectural style and collection of artifacts, which include a Tang Dynasty (618-907) celadon ewer and a Song Dynasty (960-1279) porcelain bowl.

"I love the building, and I know it is designed by the famous designer Wang Shu," Berg said. "I would like to thank him for giving me a place like home in Ningbo."

Taking a walk in the museum, he said, allows him to relax and clear his mind whenever he feels upset. Because of his frequent visits to the museum, Berg is now good friends with Jiang Yongchun, a security guard at the folk art exhibition hall on the third floor.

Berg noted that he developed an interest in cultural relics from the Tang Dynasty even before he came to China.

Today, Berg has a humble collection of such artifacts, which include traditional dowry items like furniture that a bride would bring to the groom's home in Ningbo in ancient times.
