Ningbo Zhoushan Port inaugurates branch in Dubai

Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group Co Ltd, the operator of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the world's largest port by cargo throughput, inaugurated its first overseas branch in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on June 14, local media reported.
The Dubai branch will primarily focus on businesses related to overseas warehousing, according to a spokesman from Ningbo Port International Logistics Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group Co Ltd.
In 2021, Ningbo Zhoushan Port handled 1.22 billion metric tons of cargo, up 4.4 percent year-on-year and topping the global rankings for the 13th straight year. The port's container throughput reached 31.08 million TEUs, up 8.2 percent year-on-year and ranking third globally, official data from the Zhejiang Port and Shipping Management Center showed.
The newly established company in Dubai is expected to serve as a key node for the port to extend its logistics service in the Middle East and pave the way for trade, logistics and e-commerce enterprises from China to seek business opportunities in the region, said experts.
As the port's operator, Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group is the first company from Zhejiang to win the China Quality Award (CQA), the highest honor in the field of quality management in China.
