Ningbo Zhoushan Port recognized for sustainability

The Beilun No 1 Container Terminal of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the world's largest port by cargo throughput volume, was honored as a national four-star green port.
Four-star is the second highest level in the China Port Association's grading system for the sustainability of a port's operations.
In recent years, the Beilun No 1 Container Terminal has taken measures, including upgrading transportation equipment, optimizing transportation structure, improving logistics efficiency, and utilizing energy-saving technologies, to become more sustainable.
Currently, the port's operations are completely powered by electricity, and 94.38 percent of its lights are of the energy-saving kind. The port has also been equipped with remote intelligent lighting control systems that help reduce energy consumption.
