More than 6,000 professional buyers from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province have signed up for the fifth China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, according to a news conference held on Oct 27.
The delegation is 10 percent larger in scale than the previous year. This year, purchasers from the city plan to continue to expand imports of primary products and quality consumer goods and bring in more advanced technology, equipment and key parts that are in line with the city’s industrial chain and supply chain requirements, according to local authorities.
In addition, Ningbo will stage a number of activities themed on people-to-people exchanges, international cooperation, import procurement and investment promotion on the sidelines of the six-day event.
A conference co-hosted by the Ningbo Municipal People's Government and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce will also be held to encourage imports of agricultural products from Central and Eastern European Countries.
The city will also set up a 216-square-meter booth at the exhibition themed on opening-up accomplishments achieved by China in the past decade.
Ningbo has been ranked fifth in the nation in terms of the value of procurement deals at the CIIE for three years in a row, only behind Shanghai, Shandong, Zhejiang and Zhejiang trade missions.
