Residents from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang can now admire masterful French artworks without flying to the European country located about 10,000 kilometers away from it.

An exhibition featuring dozens of exquisite artworks crafted by French century-old brands, including Cristal & Bronze, Odiot and J.L Coquet opened on the 40th floor of the K11 Atelier, a landmark building in downtown Ningbo, on Nov 17.

These artworks will be in exhibition across China for a year.

Zhang Jian, the person in charge of the exhibition, said Ningbo was chosen as the first stop of the tour because the city is a manufacturing hub that has been actively embracing different cultures, art and technologies, which is line with the theme of the exhibition - "art loves manufacturing".

An innovative design contest will be launched by the exhibition's sponsors on the sidelines of event in Ningbo to provide an opportunity for local outstanding industrial designers to cooperate with the world's top artisans and world-renowned brands. Excellent design works will be exhibited in both Ningbo and Paris in the future.

An integral part of the ongoing 2022 Maritime Silk Road Culture and Travel Expo in Ningbo, the exhibition is slated to run until Nov 23.

The 2022 Maritime Silk Road Culture and Travel Expo, which is sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, will see businesses from countries along the Maritime Silk Road showcase a wide range of cultural and tourism products.
