Two national innovation platforms - the national open innovation platform for the application of next-generation artificial intelligence in smart manufacturing and the national innovation base for industrial internet - were inaugurated in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Nov 27.
The city announced the establishment of the two platforms on the sidelines of the ongoing China Industrial Internet Industrial Innovation and Ecological Development Conference in the city.
The establishment of the former is a recognition of the rapid development of artificial intelligence in intelligent manufacturing in Ningbo, according to a staffer at the Ningbo Industrial Internet Research Institute.
The platform is designed to be an open platform that would facilitate the sharing of key technologies in next-generation smart manufacturing.
Meanwhile, the other platform to be built in Ningbo is among a series of national innovation bases released by the China Association for Science and Technology.
The establishment of such bases are part of CAST's efforts to facilitate collaborative innovation among companies, universities and research institutes, and promote the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
