The GDP of East China’s Zhejiang province in 2022 expanded by 3.1 percent year-on-year to reach 7.78 trillion yuan ($1.15 trillion), according to the Provincial Bureau of Statistics.

Figures released show that the added value of Zhejiang's primary secondary and tertiary industries increased by 3.2 percent, 3.4 percent, 2.8 percent year-on-year respectively, accounting for 3.0 percent, 42.7 percent and 54.3 percent of its GDP respectively.

The growth of Zhejiang's agricultural economy was stable, and the province's added value of agriculture industry reached 3,756 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.4 percent. In terms of industry, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased 4.2 percent year-on-year. In terms of the service industry, the added value drove the province's GDP up 1.5 percentage points.

In addition, Zhejiang's total retail sales of social consumer goods in 2022 increased to 3.05 trillion yuan, a 4.3 percent year-on-year increase, while retail sales of commodities such as daily necessities, grain, oil and food, beverages, and Chinese and Western medicines rose 4.8 percent, 10.2 percent, 10.3 percent and 14.2 percent year-on-year respectively.

Total exports and imports hit 3.43 trillion yuan and 1.25 trillion yuan respectively, an increase of 14.0 percent and 10.7 percent over the previous year, ranking third and sixth in the country respectively.

The core industry of the digital economy rose 10.7 percent year-on-year in 2022. The output of new energy vehicles, charging piles, solar cells and other products increased by 154.2 percent, 66.8 percent and 58.3 percent respectively.

According to the Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the per capita disposable income in the province in 2022 reached 60,302 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8 percent.

The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents stood at 71,268 yuan and 37,565 yuan respectively, an increase of 4.1 percent and 6.6 percent year-on-year in real terms.
