Ningbo adds 20 national green factories

Twenty companies from Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province made the 2022 list of the sixth batch of national green factories recently released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, bringing the total number of such enterprises in the city to 71.
The number of green factories in the city was second largest among municipalities with independent planning status in China. Green factories refer to those which operate in an environmentally friendly way.
Among the newcomers is Ningbo Changzhen Copper Co Ltd, which has leveraged green transformation as an opportunity to drive its high-quality growth.
The company has achieved zero waste water emissions by updating its pickling technologies.
In addition, three supply chains from Ningbo were designated national green supply chains, while 23 products were honored as green design products.
Ningbo, which is currently home to more than 10,000 above-designated-size industrial companies, has been vigorously championing green, low-carbon and sustainable development in recent years.
Authorities have the set the goal of making Ningbo a national pioneer in green industrial development, and peaking its industrial carbon emissions before 2023.
China aims to peak its carbon emissions before 2030 and attain carbon neutrality before 2060.
