The inaugural China Aviation Manufacturing Equipment Expo is scheduled to be held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province in October, as announced by the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Service Industry at a press conference on June 20.
The expo, which is initiated by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), is intended to serve as a platform to promote cooperation and exchange among domestic aviation equipment manufacturers.
According to the organizers, a dozen forums and business negotiation meetings will be held alongside the event.
Ge Xuyang, director of suppliers' management at AVIC International Supply Chain Technology Co Ltd, stressed the urgent need to develop a variety of domestic and foreign equipment suppliers with outstanding strength for the aviation industrial chain.
The hosting of the expo is expected to improve the balance between supply and demand in the industry while also injecting new impetus into Ningbo's aviation industry.
Ge stated that the selection of Ningbo as the host city for the expo is primarily due to its solid industrial foundation.
Over 100 companies in the aviation industry are currently operating in Ningbo, specializing in a wide range of fields such as new materials, key basic parts, machinery manufacturing, special motors, and high-end molds, official statistics show.
The city also boasts several high-profile R&D institutes like the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (Ningbo) Innovation Research Institute and various aviation industrial parks, including Ninghai Aviation Industrial Park and Qianwan New Area General Aviation Industrial Park.
