Four companies from Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province have achieved a remarkable feat by securing positions among the global top 100 automotive parts suppliers, according to a recent report by Automotive News.
This accomplishment highlights the city's growing influence in the automotive industry.
Leading the list are well-established players Bosch, Denso, ZF Friedrichshafen, and Magna International. Joining them in the league of top suppliers is Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), the only Chinese company to make it into the top 10.
Ningbo companies Joyson Electronics, Ningbo Huaxiang Electronic, Minth Group, and Ningbo Tuopu Group have attained commendable rankings of 40th, 78th, 82nd, and 94th, respectively.
This year saw a total of 13 Chinese companies make it onto the prestigious list, marking an increase of three from the previous year. Notable newcomers from China include CATL, Joyson Electronics, Ningbo Huaxiang Electronic, and the Beijing-based Exquisite Automotive Systems.
The emergence of the electrification era is causing subtle changes in the composition of the global top 100 automotive parts suppliers. Eleven new companies related to automotive electronics, chips, and power batteries have secured places on the list.
In order to stay relevant in the era of electric vehicles, traditional automotive parts suppliers are ramping up investment in new technologies in response to the growing demand for electric vehicle components from automobile manufacturers.
