Ningbo Homelink Eco-iTech Co Ltd, a manufacturer in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has joined efforts to ensure a green event by producing eco-friendly tableware for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.

The tableware that the company offers for the Games includes 15 sets of cutlery, such as plates, bowls, chopsticks, cups, straws, folks, knives, and spoons. They will be used for food packaging and occasional meals during the Games.

As green is the dominant theme of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the tableware set is all made of biodegradable materials, which are as durable as plastic but more environmentally friendly.

"These products will help to create a green Games. But we need to ensure they are of high quality," said Tian Xiaofeng, the company's marketing director, "They will soon be sent from our factory in Zhenhai district to the venues of the Hangzhou Asian Games.”

Homelink has been producing plastic cutlery for more than 10 years. Over the past decade, it has been dedicated to research on biodegradable materials and making eco-friendly products. The company has also participated in drafting several industry standards.

"Our new factory in Guangxi province will soon start operating. It is a smart factory focusing on products made of plant fiber. We will continue to promote the use of eco-friendly materials," Tian said.
