Dingtang town recognized nationally for agricultural development
Dingtang town in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province was recently listed among the first group of national strong agricultural towns. The announcement was jointly made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.
Located in the coastal county of Xiangshan, Dingtang town, known for its flourishing tangerine plantations, it is the sole Ningbo locality to receive the honor.
With a tangerine planting area spanning 23,000 mu (1,533 hectares), the local government has in recent years transformed the town into a popular tourist destination, leveraging its thriving fruit industry. The number of visitors has to date amounted to 1.52 million, contributing to significant tourism revenue of 150 million yuan ($20.57 million).
