Ningbo unveils action plan to develop 'future industries'

The Ningbo Municipal Development and Reform Commission recently introduced an action plan to accelerate the development of future industries in the city. 

The plan aims to foster nine key future industries: cutting-edge new materials, future intelligence, metaverse, future energy, aerospace technology, future marine, quantum technology, original new drugs, and future medical care. Its objective is to bolster the industrial base and modernization of the industrial chain, positioning Ningbo as a frontrunner in future industrial innovation, real-world application demonstration, and integrated development.

The plan states that by 2027, Ningbo will aim to make influential breakthroughs, cultivate innovative enterprises, and nurture top talent in these nine industries, creating a competitive futuristic industry system.
