Ningbo in Zhejiang province launched a city walk event on Oct 25 in an effort to attract and retain talent.

The event is a warm-up for the upcoming 2023 Ningbo Talent, Science and Technology Week, which will kick off on Oct 31.

Around 600 college students, including students around Ningbo and students from top universities outside the city such as Tsinghua University, participated in the event. They are divided into 12 groups and will embark on a one-day tour of the city.

The 12 traveling routes link the city's landmarks such as the Old Bund, Yangming Ancient Town, and Ningbo Zhoushan Port, leading businesses including Joyson Electronics, Geely factory, and Sunny Optical Technology, and several innovation and entrepreneurship centers.

One of the highlights of the event is the combination of traveling and job recruitment. During their visits to companies, a variety of job opportunities will be offered.

According to the Ningbo Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League, one of the organizers of the event, the event aims to help students learn more about Ningbo's landscapes, culture, and industrial development, which in turn will encourage them to stay in the city.
