Jiangbei welcomes young people with youth talent station
On Feb 22, a youth talent station in Jiangbei district, Ningbo, welcomed its first batch of occupants after the Spring Festival holiday.
Lin Xi from Wenzhou had just completed the check-in process when she received a kit from the reception staff, which contained toothpaste, a toothbrush, towels, and disposable slippers. After an orientation on talent policies and employment prospects, Lin followed the staff member to her room, where she will enjoy a seven-day free stay.
Lin is a postgraduate seeking a job in international trade in Ningbo. She initiated her accommodation request through the "Ningbo Youth Talent Station" platform before departing from Wenzhou.
"The local authorities have recommended prospective international trade firms to me and I’m preparing for the interview. I believe that I will find a great job in Jiangbei," Lin said.
The Youth Talent Station boasts 50 beds, complemented by amenities such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing facilities. A gymnasium caters to the fitness needs of young people.
"We offer discounted long-term rental options to young people beyond their complimentary seven-day stay," said Cui Qiaojing, manager of the youth station.
Jiangbei's youth talent stations, a government-led endeavor, aims to support college graduates seeking employment or entrepreneurial opportunities in Ningbo.
As of 2023, Jiangbei was home to four such youth talent stations capable of accommodating 1,421 people.
