Ningbo Zhoushan Port stands as the world's largest port in terms of cargo throughput volume and the third largest in container throughput volume.

Situated in East China's Zhejiang province, the port secured the eighth spot among global shipping hubs for its comprehensive strength, as per the Xinhua-Baltic ISCD Index 2024. This ranking marks a notable advancement from the previous year, with the port climbing one place higher. This achievement follows its initial entry into the top 10 in 2021.

Throughout 2023, Ningbo Zhoushan Port demonstrated consistent growth in both cargo and container throughput. Data from the Zhejiang provincial port shipping management center reveals that the port handled over 1.3 billion metric tons of cargo in 2023, reflecting a 4.94 percent increase compared to the previous year. Concurrently, the port's container throughput surpassed 35.3 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), marking a 5.85 percent year-on-year rise.
