Ningbo and Xi'an, two cities with rich histories, will collaboratively organize a grand exhibition entitled "The Starting Point of The East – A Cross-Time and Space Dialogue Exhibition Between Ningbo and Xi'an on the Maritime and Overland Silk Roads".

The exhibition is set to open at the Ningbo Museum on Nov 26 and will run until March 23, promising to be a delight for history enthusiasts and culture lovers.

The exhibition will feature a collection of 481 artifacts, 45 percent of which are graded cultural relics, and will be the first domestic exhibition to showcase artifacts from both the Maritime and Overland Silk Roads in one venue. This unique opportunity will allow attendees to explore the incredible legacy of these ancient trade routes and appreciate their enduring significance.

Among the notable artifacts are a gilded silver and gold vase from the Ningxia Guyuan Museum, a celadon bowl from the Famen Temple underground palace, and an ancient dish from the Zhejiang Museum. These artifacts will narrate the fascinating story of the Silk Road's development, from its origins in the Neolithic Age to its enduring influence in modern times.

The exhibition is divided into various sections, each dedicated to exploring different aspects of the Silk Road's history and its profound impact on global culture and trade.

To enhance the visitor experience, the museum has planned a series of educational activities, including academic dialogues, lectures, and immersive performances. These activities aim to provide visitors with a deeper dive into the Silk Road's cultural heritage and offer them an opportunity to learn more about this incredible historical phenomenon.

With its impressive collection of artifacts, thoughtful layout, and engaging educational activities, the exhibition is poised to be a must-visit for anyone interested in the history and culture of the Silk Roads.
