Zhejiang sharpens vision for common prosperity

East China's Zhejiang province held a conference in Hangzhou on Feb 5 to clarify objectives and strategies for turning the province into a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

The agenda focuses on fostering opening-up, driving private-sector innovation, and building a transportation and logistics system to lay a stronger foundation for high-quality development.

A key element of the plan is a county-centered development framework linking counties, towns, and villages to promote rural vitalization. The province aims to integrate urban and rural planning, streamline infrastructure, and align industrial development to facilitate the flow of resources and expand employment opportunities, particularly for middle-income households.

In industrial centers such as Ningbo and Shaoxing, efforts will target employment for university graduates and job support for priority groups. To develop remote areas in Zhoushan and Lishui, initiatives will focus on rural vitalization and community development.

Cultural development is another pillar of Zhejiang's strategy. Plans include stronger cultural heritage preservation, broader access to public cultural resources through the "15-Minute Quality Cultural Life Circle", and the cultivation of leading cultural enterprises to develop compelling cultural and tourism products.
