Ningbobang Museum

The Ningbo Community, also known as Ningbobang, refers to a group of businesspeople who were born in Ningbo but live outside the city, most of whom have achieved success by starting their own businesses.

At the Ningbobang Museum in Zhenhai district, visitors can learn about dignitaries such as Hong Kong tycoon and philanthropist Yue-Kong Pao and Nobel Prize winner Tu Youyou, who is credited with discovering the antimalarial drug artemisinin.

Official data shows 31 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering are natives of Zhenhai district. It is also home to Zhenhai High School,  a provincial key school with a history of over 800 years.
