Ningbo blazes with azalea blossoms

Yunjin azalea trees growing on mountains in Longguan township, Ningbo's Haishu district have recently entered their flowering period, creating a splendid scene.

The azalea, also known as rhododendron fortunei, is dubbed "super azalea" due to its big and dense blossoms.

Its corolla is measured at about 7 centimeters long, while the diameter can reach up to 10 centimeters when in full bloom. It has seven petals, which is rarely seen, as ordinary azaleas only have five. 

This variety of azaleas is widely distributed in the mountainous area in Ningbo. For example, Siming Mountain is also a place that is highly recommended to visit to enjoy the bright-colored flowers.
