Bailongtanyang village in Ningbo's Ninghai county has taken on a completely new look thanks to an art design campaign lunched by the local government.

In the campaign, villagers were encouraged to renovate their surroundings using art under the guidance of some artists.

In mid-July, a bamboo fence themed contest was launched in the village, in which over 50 villagers were divided into 11 groups to refurnish the village with art.

Recently, the winners were selected based on a jury composed of government officials and artists sent to the village.
