A 5,000-mu rice field in the Qianwan New Area, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province recently became ready for harvest.

Despite its saline and alkaline conditions, the field has seen a stable growth in crop yields in recent years due to the help of local agronomists.

The tillage is synchronized with the harvest, which is expected to be completed by the end of November. Come winter, rapeseed and wheat will be grown on the land instead.
