Yinzhou district in Ningbo, Zhejiang province has launched a coffee shop, whose revenues will be donated to charitable projects, on June 18.

The coffee shop is called "i coffee" and is located in Qianhuliyuan community in Dongqianhu town. It is the first charitable coffee shop to be launched in the town and its workers are all volunteers. The shop, which is open on the third Sunday of each month, sells two kinds of coffee - Americano and latte - at prices of 9.9 yuan ($1.36) and 11.9 yuan, respectively.

"All the shop's revenues will be directly sent to the Yinzhou District Charity Federation and will be used for charitable projects serving seniors and children, as well as those in need of community support," said Lyu Yayun, secretary of the Qianhuliyuan community.

Customers will also receive a points card after buying coffee. According to the community, the points they collect at the shop can be redeemed for free trips to Dongqian Lake.

"It enables people to join charitable efforts more easily. All they need to do is buy a cup of coffee," said Lyu, "The coffee shop is a start. We plan to launch a charitable travel route and invite more businesses to join the project."
