Lantern festival to illuminate Ningbo ancient town

A lantern festival will kick off in Cicheng Ancient Town in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Feb 2, welcoming the Year of the Dragon with a 50-day celebration.

Themed around Shanhaijing (Classics of Mountains and Seas), an ancient work of Chinese literature, and the Year of the Dragon, the lantern festival will feature an array of lantern displays depicting dragons and other mythical creatures.

During the event, immersive cultural performances and traditional food will be available to visitors in the town’s Congma River area.
