UNNC supports international students in working in Ningbo
"I'm absolutely delighted to work in China, specifically in Ningbo," said Jack, an international graduate from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), after he received his work visa on Dec 9.
In 2023, driven by his intense interest in China, Jack enrolled in UNNC's master's program in Business Analytics.
Huang Huanhuan, director of UNNC's international cooperation and exchange office, noted UNNC provides international students with a thorough understanding of China, with services such as policy guidance, cultural experiences, Mandarin lessons, and Chinese culture courses.
Through various UNNC-organized activities, including boat tours on Dongqian Lake, hikes on Siming Mountain, and trying local cuisine, Jack was able to experience Ningbo's society, convenience, hospitality, and rapid development, ultimately deciding to stay.
"Ningbo is a big city with excellent surroundings and many English speakers, making it the most convenient city I've lived in," said Jack, "I've made many good friends here, and these emotional ties make me reluctant to leave. Moreover, everyone here works hard and lives earnestly. This positive and upward spirit and atmosphere are very inspiring to me."
This year, Jack secured a job at Yinzhou No 2 Hospital.
As graduation seasons approach, UNNC's relevant departments have received numerous inquiries from international students regarding employment and entrepreneurship. The university assists them in preparing and submitting work visa application documents. In addition to Jack, four other international graduates from UNNC will receive their work visas in the next two weeks, embarking on a new life in China.
