China's animated hit Ne Zha 2 has not only mesmerized audiences at home but has also captivated viewers worldwide.

Thomas William Whyke, assistant professor with an expertise in culture and communication ‬ at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, shares with China Daily why Ne Zha 2 connects with audiences worldwide.

"I think the film has a lot of universal themes that people from countries around the world can actually resonate with. For instance, family relationships, personal growth, the conflict between collectivism and individualism, trying to make it on your own in the world. I think these are things that are quite relatable to international audiences," said Whyke.
