Badminton Asia COO applauds Ningbo

As the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships heated up in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, Chooi Weng Sheng, chief operating officer of Badminton Asia, praised the host city for its passion, innovation, and transformative spirit in an interview with Ningbo Daily.

Chooi said he came to Ningbo with high expectations after last year's tournament and was pleased to see the city, once again, raised the bar of sports presentation. He noted that the event was progressing smoothly and had already created a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for athletes and spectators.

He highlighted that one of the event's strengths is its off-court experiences such as a carnival area, which features a giant mascot, local heritage food, and cultural products inspired by Ningbo's iconic Tianyi Pavilion. He believed these elements added a distinctive charm to the championship.

Chooi also emphasized the organizers' commitment to sustainability, pointing out that all official vehicles used for the event were electric. He said this not only contributed to a positive tournament environment but also reflected the organizing committee's effort to promote green values.
