Students blend village charm with modern design

In Ningbo's Zhenhai district, ancient architecture and contemporary fashion came together as the One Day Project runway show turned the historic Zheng's Seventeen Houses Scenic Area into a stage for innovation.

The showcase featured 67 original designs created by students from the Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology. Inspired by the textures, rhythms, and atmosphere of the old village, the students reimagined traditional elements through fresh silhouettes and inventive craftsmanship.

Each piece — from concept to completion — was designed, produced, and presented within just 11 hours. The event sparked a lively dialogue between tradition and modernity, demonstrating how young designers can breathe new life into cultural heritage through fashion.
