A special bus line from Ningbo South Bus Terminal to Shanghai Pudong International Airport opened on Jan 1, with the first bus leaving Ningbo at 6:10 on time.
It is the second airport bus line established in the city after one to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport opened on Dec 18, 2018, and is a further step by the city in promoting inter-connectivity in the Yangtze Delta Region.
The shuttle bus runs between the two places eight times per day, with the first bus in Ningbo leaving at 6:10 and the last bus at 16:30, while the first bus in Pudong airport leaves at 9:00 and the last bus at 21:00.
The single trip takes around 3 hours and costs 150 yuan ($21.88).
"The bus line provides great convenience for me to visit my son studying abroad," said a Ningbo native who bought a ticket a week ago for a shuttle to Pudong airport on Jan 1.
Before the bus line was opened, passengers in Ningbo had to travel by high-speed rail to Hongqiao airport in Shanghai before reaching Pudong airport, wasting a lot of time and energy.
To ensure smooth traffic during the travel peak in Spring Festival, passengers can buy round-trip tickets one month ahead of time starting from Jan 2, according to the passenger service department of Ningbo South Bus Terminal.
