Ningbo weightlifter sets new record at Asian championships

Shi Zhiyong, a weightlifter from Ningbo, won three gold medals in the men's 73kg division at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, on April 22.

Shi, the 2016 Rio Olympic Games champion in the men's 69kg division, lifted 168kg in the snatch and 194kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 362kg.

The 26-year-old athlete broke the world record from last year, also set by him, of 164kg in the snatch and 360kg in total.
