The 2019 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week Ningbo was held in its Yinzhou district on June 14, where 23 big projects worth 25.5 billion yuan ($3.68 billion) involving the district were signed. 

The projects focused on small and micro-sized industrial parks, intelligent medical care, e-commerce platforms and integrated circuits.

The district has made remarkable progress in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in recent years. It now houses three national startup incubators and 1,822 technology-oriented companies.

The district was selected as a national model base for innovation and entrepreneurship in 2017, and was commended by the State Council in early May for its significant progress in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, the only base to have the honor in Zhejiang province. 

In the same month, seven of the district's technological achievements were awarded the 2018 Zhejiang provincial science and technology award. 

The 2019 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on June 13. 

Running until June 19, the weeklong event is held in various parts of the country, with its main venue in Hangzhou.
