The conceptual designs for the Ningbo International Conference Center were unveiled on Aug 28.

The blueprints, submitted by nine top architectural design teams from home and abroad, were exhibited in the city's exhibition hall for public appraisal, a process that will last for five days.

The conference center comes as part of the city's broacher push to improve its strategic position in the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone and build itself into a global metropolitan area.

The center, which will be situated next to Dongqian Lake, will host international summits, business and academic conferences, high-end exhibitions and cultural events.

Cultural and commercial streets will also be available near the venue for recreational purposes.
