Ningbo inaugurates first clinic medical college

Ningbo's first clinic medical college was inaugurated on Sept 19 and will begin enrolling students as soon as next year, local media reported.

The move comes after the Ningbo municipal government reached a partnership with the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in August last year.

According to the agreement, the two will jointly build a clinic medical college and a research institute focusing on the life and health industry in Ningbo.

The newly established school is the fourth clinic medical school to be established by the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The college will include six major areas of study – clinical medicine, laboratory, stomatology, rehabilitation, imaging and nursing. It will also build a modern medical teaching center and an animal experiment center.

An official from the Ningbo municipal health committee said the college's establishment will further improve teaching and research capabilities in Ningbo's medical field and help the city attract more high profile talents.
