Agricultural brands underpin rural vitalization

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province plans to enact several measures to boost the development of local agricultural brands as part of its effort to increase income among farmers and promote rural vitalization.

The city aims to establish a modern agricultural brand system within three to five years, as announced at a local agricultural brand development conference held on Oct 25.

The plan includes the establishment of a municipal shared agricultural product brand, 10 county-level shared agricultural product brands, 200 renowned enterprises and 2,000 characteristic agricultural products.

To achieve this goal, Ningbo will roll out a series of preferential policies to boost shared agricultural brand building and ramp up efforts in brand marketing and quality control.

As for brand marketing, the local authorities plan to build a platform for international agricultural trade cooperation and utilize modern information technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and mobile internet so as to expand brand circulation channels.
