The 2020 Ningbo Internet Culture Festival opened at Fangte Theme Park on May 27, local media reported.

The festival, in its 13th year, aims to foster a positive and healthy internet culture in the city. Slated to run until December, it will encompass a total of 31 cultural activities.

Lin Daji, deputy head of the Ningbo municipal department of publicity, said at the opening ceremony that the festival will increase benefits for netizens and bolster confidence in conquering COVID-19, while also sustaining social and economic growth.

The winners of the short video contest launched by the city in April were also unveiled during the ceremony.

The festival has grown to be an influential internet cultural event in Ningbo in recent years, with an attendance of more than 20 million netizens thus far.
