Construction plan for Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway approved

In addition, the Xihoumen Cross-sea Road-rail Bridge, an integral part of the railway, is expected to become the longest-spanning high-speed rail bridge in the world. 

The railway will reduce travel time from Ningbo to Zhoushan to just 30 minutes and the time from Hangzhou to Ningbo and then to Zhoushan to just one hour.

The rail line is expected to further integrate Ningbo and Zhoushan and contribute to the national Yangtze River Delta Integration strategy and Belt and Road Initiative.
