The Asian Games Sailing Center, the venue for the sailing contests of the 19th Asian Games in 2022, was completed in the coastal county of Xiangshan in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on March 30, according to local media reports.
The center also passed third-party examinations on its interior decoration, water and electricity facilities, as well as operation platforms.
With a total investment of roughly 600 million yuan ($92.3 million), the center will be the first sports venue in Zhejiang qualified to host international A-level sports competitions.
Unlike other Asian Games venues which are constructed on land, the sailing center covers a sea area of 47 hectares. It includes a competition and training center, a water sport base, as well as a dock basin.
The sailing contests of the 14th National Games, featuring about 500 athletes from 20 teams across the country, are slated to be held in the center in September.
