A plane loaded with exhibits from Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) arrived in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on May 27.

The exhibits ranging from beer and goose down quilts from Poland, detergent and softener from Hungary to rose cream and cleansing gel from Bulgaria will be displayed at the second China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, which will be held in the city from June 8 to 11.

Weighing a combined 873.3 kilograms, the goods make up the first batch of CEEC exhibits that have arrived in Ningbo. Some, like goose down quilts and high-quality wines, will be making their debut in China.

The goods were transported by the flight connecting Ningbo with Budapest, capital of Hungary. It is the first direct cargo flight opened by the city to the CEEC. The flight is operated by China Eastern Airlines.

There will be two flights per week for this route, with each flight transporting a maximum of 35 metric tons of goods.

According to Yu Dilong, head of the logistics agency responsible for the transportation of the exhibits, there are another nine batches of exhibits that will be transported via these flights.

The flight route's opening as well as custom clearance facilitation measures have shortened the time required for filing, customs clearance and inspection for the exhibits from one month to just one day, Yu said.

Statistics from Ningbo Customs show that Ningbo's imports and exports with CEEC via airports amounted to 79.677 million yuan ($12.26 million) from January to April, up 495.8 percent year-on-year.
