Ningbo ranks 10th in China in public service quality

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province was ranked 10th nationally in terms of public service quality in 2020, the highest ranking for the city to date, according to a circular recently released by the State Administration for Market Regulation.

A total of 110 cities from 31 provincial-level areas were monitored by the administration and evaluated based on 12 factors, including education, employment, medical service, social security, transportation, public security, as well as ecological environment.

The top 10 cities on the list were Chengdu, Huzhou, Nanjing, Kunming, Xiamen, Nantong, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Ningbo.

Ningbo scored 82.4 points out of 100 in 2020, rising from 80.96 in 2018 and 81.26 in 2019, while also being rated as excellent in all 12 factors observed in the report. It ranked among the top five nationwide in terms of social security, medical service, and employment.

Official data from the Ningbo municipal heath commission shows that more than 9.95 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Ningbo as of July 19.

About 3.59 million people or 44.79 percent of the city's total population aged above 18 had been fully vaccinated.

In a report released by Welian.com, the global Zhejiang businesspeople research institute at Zhejiang University, and Liepin.com, Ningbo was ranked sixth among 32 major cities nationwide in 2020 in terms of the ecosystem for talents, behind only Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.
