The 2021 World Digital Economy Conference & 11th China Smart City and Intelligent Economy Expo are scheduled to open in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 15, according to the Ningbo municipal bureau of economy and information technology.

The event will include a main forum, an expert consultation session and six theme forums. Esteemed scholars and experts will discuss topics about 5G, industrial digital transformation, artificial intelligence and carbon neutrality at these events.

Apart from meetings, an expo featuring tech heavyweights including China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom and Huawei will be held. The expo will be divided into four sections - digital economy, smart manufacturing, intelligent city and future industries.

The expo has been held in Ningbo every year since its inception in 2011 and has become a significant platform promoting cooperation and exchange in smart city construction and intelligent economy in China.

In addition, a festival themed on digital consumption and technological innovation competitions will be held on the sidelines of the expo.
