Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province recently unveiled an action plan to boost transportation construction as part of its broader push to seek common prosperity.

According to the plan, the city aims to have more than 85 percent of townships under its jurisdiction have access to expressways within 15 minutes of them by 2025.

Public transportation services in its urban and rural areas will be fully integrated.

Efforts will also be made to curb traffic congestions, with an aim to increase the average speed of public vehicles in urban areas to 20 km/h during rush hours by the end of 2025.

In addition, the city will accelerate the construction of railways linking Ningbo with its administrative areas like Cixi and Xiangshan, cutting travel time to one hour.

Ningbo also aims to be a city that is within a one-hour distance of any city in Zhejiang by high-speed rail.

It plans to increase the total length of roads in the city to 1,486 km and bring the city's road network density to 111 km/100 square kilometers by 2025.
