Zhenhai reports one asymptomatic COVID-19 infection

A truck driver was identified as an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 in Ningbo's Zhenhai district on March 28, according to local media reports.

The driver, travelling from outside East China's Zhejiang province, tested positive during a routine nucleic acid test and has been sent to a designated hospital for treatment.

Zhenhai immediately activated its emergency response mechanism and imposed close-looped management on the locations he visited.

His contacts and sub-contacts have also been transferred to centralized isolation sites for medical observation. Their first round of nucleic acid tests returned negative.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with epidemic prevention and control work and take necessary self-protection measures including wearing face masks and washing hands frequently.

That same day, sealed management for some places in Ningbo's Qianwan New Area was lifted after several rounds of testing in the area showed no signs of infection.

Qianwan reported a COVID-19 case on the morning of March 14.
