Young people enthusiastic about upcoming Asian Games

Young people in Ningbo, Zhejiang province are excited about the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games, which will be held in September.

According to local authorities, more than 14,000 applications were received from people looking to volunteer at Xiangshan venues during the Hangzhou Asian Games, most of whom are students from colleges around Ningbo, including Ningbo University, Ningbo University of Finance & Economics, and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

In February, 2,299 people were interviewed, which took into account spoken English, competition volunteer experiences, cognitive ability and other skills. 

To date, 1,167 people have been selected to serve as volunteers at Xiangshan venues, 1,130 of whom are college students while others are full-time workers such as teachers and interpreters.

Zheng Zhe, a student at Ningbo University, is an experienced volunteer. As a member of a volunteer teaching team at the university, he participated in the volunteer teaching program in Guizhou and also volunteered at many marathons.

"As a volunteer for the Asian Games, I hope I can help showcase this wonderful city to people around the world," said Zheng.
