Life expectancy in Ningbo exceeds 82 years

The life expectancy of registered residents in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province stood at 82.4 years in 2021, according to official statistics from the Ningbo Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Life expectancy is a comprehensive indicator reflecting the health status of residents in a country or city. Determined by factors including social and economic conditions and medical care level, it will fluctuate to a certain extent every year.

Meanwhile, the healthy life expectancy among residents in Ningbo reached 72.33 years, which means the life span for an infant in the city is predicted to be 82.4 years, of which 10.07 years might be spent with illness and disability.

Last year, the proportion of people aged 30 to 70 who died because of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes in the city was 9.44 percent.
