Ningbo's attractiveness to high-profile talents grows

Eighteen doctorate degree holders reached cooperation agreements with 16 enterprises in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on July 7, according to local media reports.
The agreements were signed at a conference aimed at helping local enterprises attract high-profile talents. The two-day event was attended by 480 doctoral students from universities including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Koyto University as well as 180 companies.
Cao Yang, deputy general manager of NBTM New Materials Group Co Ltd, a powder metal structural components manufacturer based in Ningbo, said that they were looking to attract talents in the fields of polymer and magnetic materials through the conference.
Ningbo has in recent years made significant progress in expanding its talent pool. The city currently has 310 post-doctoral workstations that are staffed by more than 1,430 post-doctoral members. The city has the most newly-built post-doctoral workstations above the provincial level for three consecutive years in the province, according to official data from the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.
More than 500 technologies developed by these workstations have been awarded science and technology awards that are provincial level or above. These workstations have also obtained authorization for 8,172 patents in key fields such as intelligent manufacturing and new materials.
